This is a quick video on how MLK Day became a National Holiday

How MLK Day came to be.

It wasn’t exactly a smooth ride — more than 50 Bills attempting to make a holiday for Dr. King were all denied in the 1970s — but eventually Americans were forced to commemorate a day that celebrated the significant accomplishments of one of the greatest Americans who ever lived.

Since most employers still won’t allow their employees to take off that day (that’s another issue for another day), please take a few minutes, find a break room and be enlightened on how America came to celebrate MLK Day on the third Monday of each January.
