Just going to cut to the chase.
On July 29, 2016, the Supreme Court ruled that North Carolina used voter suppression tactics with “surgical precision” that specifically targeted African-Americans. Those were the Supreme Court’s words, not ours. This was due to a key ruling from the 1965 Voting Rights Act that was taken down in 2013 which allowed these blatant actions to happen.
North Carolina’s Republicans tried to appeal it a year later. That didn’t work.
We’re writing this just to prove to people that these voter suppression tactics are real — and not 1960’s real, but 2016-and-beyond real.
