Here’s a quick bio on one of the best congressman you may never heard of, Houston’s Mickey Leland.

In addition to the video, he sought a better portrayal of African-Americans on TV, pushed Black Ownership, & was the other man (along with John Lewis) who introduced the 1988 Bill to have the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture come to pass.

He died in a 1989 plane crash in Ethiopia…
